Attacked once again…

We were back online for 4 days and already getting attacked with a DDoS again. Now I can’t go back online till we find a way to stop or counter the attacks so this might take a while. If there isn’t a way to counter anything about this attacker I’ll just keep the server offline, sucks but nothing else I can do.

Still no idea why we’re getting attacked or why someone would hate a free TeamSpeak server so much. It’s non-profit and free for everyone to use! if you have a problem with free servers please speak up and tell us why, instead of attacking my network.

Still hoping I will see you again once this guy stops attacking.

We’re back online! but for how long?

Hi guys,

The TeamSpeak Server is back online for now. Still no word from the attacker on why he attacked, neither did I receive any other hints or tips.
I have blocked all TeamSpeak Trackers I can find, just in case.
I hope we can stay online as we always did for the last few years.

Welcome back and thanks for your patience~!

Getting attacked for hosting AbsoluteTeamSpeak

Hi guys,

As you know the TeamSpeak server is offline, this is because of a SYN flood DDoS attack. It’s finally kind of clear that the reason for attacking my network is hosting this TeamSpeak server. I’m not sure why someone would attack a free TeamSpeak server which doesn’t make any money, but it doesn’t look like the attacker is gonna explain himself. So in the end I still don’t know exactly why we’re getting attack, just like I don’t know who is attacking.

I first started hosting this AbsoluteTeamSpeak server for AbsoluteLegends but as AbsoluteLegends died I continued hosting it for fun and as part of my hobby. I didn’t advertise this server or anything I just let the people (you guys) take care of it and that seemed to go just fine for many years. I’ve been hosting TeamSpeak for (I think) 8 or 9 years which was TeamSpeak 2 first and never experienced a aggressive act like this before so I’m quite surprised. Hopefully I can somehow continue hosting this big server soon, I’ll see what I can do.

For now there is nothing else I can do than to keep the server offline till the attacker speaks up or we find a way to counter it (which is very unlikely). If you know anything about this attack please use the Contact or Feedback tab to contact me or comment to this message, if you have any other questions or comments feel free to send those too.

Thanks from your TS admin KingHawk, hope to see you again soon!

Down-time caused by attack

It looks like someone keeps attacking my network. I have no idea why or for what reason but for some reason he/she wants my home to be offline.
Sorry about any inconvenience caused, sadly there is nothing I can do against this kind of attack (probably DDoS) since it’s just a hobby of mine which I do for fun.
Since I don’t make and am not allowed to make money with this I can only hope this person stops attacking.

Forcing the latest TeamSpeak client version

As of today I am forcing the update for the latest version ( of the TeamSpeak client, so you have to update or you won’t be able to connect to the TeamSpeak server.
The reason for this is that in the previous version there is an exploit available which allowed people (who take advantage of this) to send files to other users on TeamSpeak without consent.

You can use the automatic updater or download the latest version of your client here

TeamSpeak 3 Client is Available

We have just released a very important security update for the TeamSpeak 3 Client addressing a RFI (Remote File Inclusion) vulnerability. Please upgrade your desktop clients to version immediately. The update is available for Windows, Linux and OS X. Mobile clients for Android and iOS are not affected by this issue.

Preparing new TeamSpeak server!

I’ve finally purchased a new server which I’m going to use for several things including the TeamSpeak server. It will require some time to get it ready and installed but I’ll try to finish it by Thursday (June 18) so I can switch over to the new server on Friday morning (CEST – GMT+2). The switch might cause the server to be offline for 15 to 40 minutes depending on how it goes. So be prepared in case you planned to do something with TeamSpeak this morning, I will try to finish it before 9 am (CEST – GMT+2).

You might have noticed the channels you have created vanished, this is because the server was restarted in preparation of the new server but I will try to not let this happen again with the upcoming server restarts. Next time I’ll prevent this from happening by making the channels Permanent before the restart and afterwards change them back to Temporary channels.

Thanks for your support and understanding, I hope you’ll have a good time using the TeamSpeak server!

Everything was successfully installed and seems to work properly.

Going to improve the situation for the server Sunday morning June 21 before 9am (CEST – GMT+2) so this might cause some down-time.

Create your own Channel

A temporary channel will be automatically deleted when nobody has visited it for 7 days.

When you scroll all the way down on the TeamSpeak Server you will find this new Channel in which you can create your own temporary channel.
Check the screenshot below for more info, rules and instructions on how to use it.
